ClickUp MCP
ClickUp task management via MCP. Tasks, spaces, lists, goals, and time tracking.
Solid choice for most workflows
You need to automate task creation, updates, and workspace searches from within AI agents without context-switching to the ClickUp UI.
Reliable official MCP implementation with broad tool coverage. Natural language task orchestration works well. Bulk operations and time tracking are solid. Note: multi-workspace OAuth not yet supported—agents can only access the single authenticated workspace. Task linking and dependency setting are not yet exposed as MCP tools (feature request pending).
You're building an autonomous agent that needs to generate executive reports, status summaries, or portfolio rollups from scattered task and doc data.
Works well for read-heavy reporting workflows. Agents can search and aggregate data reliably. Performance is good for typical workspace sizes. Caveat: no built-in aggregation or analytics tools—the agent must do the synthesis itself.
You're automating CI/CD or DevOps workflows and need to create bugs, feature requests, or code review tasks programmatically with templates and dependencies.
Task creation is fast and reliable. Bulk operations work. Task chains (sequences of dependent tasks) are supported. Limitation: task linking and explicit dependency setting (blocking/waiting-on relationships) are not yet exposed as MCP tools—you can create chains but cannot set arbitrary task relationships after creation.
No multi-workspace or shared workspace access
ClickUp MCP can only access the single workspace the authenticated user is bound to. If your agent needs to read or write across multiple workspaces or shared workspaces, you must set up separate MCP instances per workspace. This breaks agentic workflows that span organizational boundaries.
Task linking and dependencies not exposed
The underlying ClickUp API supports task linking and dependency management (blocking, waiting-on), but these are not yet exposed as MCP tools. Agents can create tasks and chains but cannot set or read arbitrary task relationships without context-switching to the UI.
